Sunshine Room
Ages 2-3
In the Sunshine Room, our youngest learners begin developing independence, exploring the world around them, and learning from each other, as well as caring teachers, how it feels to be part of a larger social group: the classroom!
Year Highlights
- Preparing and baking our own snack monthly
- Multi-week unit on birds
- Planting & gardening (bulbs, beans, sunflowers)
- Walking trips around Weston
- A visit from the Weston Fire Department
Sunshine Teachers
Irma Casanova - Teacher
Irma was born in Texas, but lived most of her life in Florida. She moved to Vermont in 2017 with her husband, Steve. She shares a home with her step son and his family in Weston. Irma started at The Little School in 2021. Her favorite things to do are spend time with her grandchildren and be outdoors. She loves to cook for friends and family and her favorite color is orange.
Lily Clark - Assistant
Hi my name is Lily! I am currently working on my associates degree (eventually bachelor’s!) and certificate in Early Childhood Education at CCV. I have always lived in southern VT and love living here! I started working at the Little School last spring as a floater, and this year i’m in the sunshine room! I love exploring the outdoors, whether that’s gardening, camping, or hiking with my dogs!
